Videos and Articles - are they Friends or Foes on Gather?

Does video compete with articles, books, printed news, publishing? Or do they compliment each other?

I really don't like the videos on gather promoting the books. Some of them are of very poor quality and they drive me nuts! I just might not buy a book I thought I was interested because the video was so lame.

The articles and reviews are really quite helpful.

I always like to talk about great books that are made into horrible films. Now, if saw a movie that was terrible before I read the book, I wouldn't read it.

As an avid reader, with a wild imagination, I always love reading to put myself and my own thoughts into the story. This is what makes reading a magical experience.

I was severely disappointed with the following film adaptations, listed in no particular order;

1. The DaVinci Code
2. Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
3. Striptease (I love Hiassen)
4. The Bonfire of the Vanities
5. Great Expectations
6. How the Grinch Stole X-mas (Jim Carrey version...I love the original)

Wonderful adaptations include:
1. A Little Princess (Shirley Temple version)
2. Jungle Book
3. Gone with the Wind
4. Forrest Gump
5. The Godfather
6. The Green Mile

Anyone else?
